We warmly welcome our new international students to the Bionics Institute, Alicia Carabali and Patrick Lam. Alicia recently commenced her PhD at the University of Melbourne, and is the successful recipient of a scholarship from the Oticon Hearing Foundation. Her research will be related to the measuring of listening effort in patients using auditive aids.
Patrick Lam is undertaking his Masters in Biomedical Science at The University of Melbourne and is pursuing his dream of becoming a future biomedical researcher. Supervised by Dr Andrew Wise and Dr Rachael Richardson, he is researching alternative therapies to prevent progressive neural degeneration in patients with severe to profound sensory hearing loss.
We are excited about our journey together and looking forward to what they will achieve during their time with us.
