Mr Rodney Millard

Rodney provides engineering support and advice across a range of projects at the Bionics Institute, with a current focus on embedded hardware and firmware for the Blackout advisory system. Rodney has contributed to the safe and efficacious studies of the bionic eye and stimulation of the auditory pathway.

Together with his extensive experience at the Bionics Institute, Rodney has worked in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Melbourne. Throughout his career he has supported researchers and other professionals from a variety of disciplines working in the field of auditory neuroscience.

Rodney’s specialisations include:

  • The design and manufacture of electronic instrumentation and devices for a range of biomedical uses.
  • Software design and programming for a wide range of uses, including neuroscience signal generation, recording and data analysis and systems for psychophysical measurements.
  • Troubleshooting, design and debugging of equipment and experimental preparations.
