Yutian Ma is a PhD Candidate in Chemical Engineering at the Bionics Institute and University of Melbourne. He is supervised by Dr Andrew Wise (Bionics Institute) and Professor Frank Caruso (University of Melbourne). Yutian’s primary research is focused on protecting hearing using nanoengineered drug delivery systems. He is originally from Shenyang, in China.

Yutian finished his bachelor degree majoring in biomedical engineering at Tianjin University in China. Yutian then came to Australia and completed a Masters degree in biomedical engineering at The University of Melbourne. Yutian’s research focussed on the application of metal-phenolic networks.
