
Ms Melissa McShane, Development Manager
Melissa works with our donors in developing strong philanthropic partnerships and supporting them to create significant impact in translating medical research.
Prior to starting at the Bionics Institute in February 2022, Melissa worked at ClimateWorks as Development Manager and the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Melbourne with a focus on securing major gifts for scholarships and research.
Melissa has a background in the Arts as a performer, director and arts administrator – she loves dance, music, theatre and visual arts. She has worked in the arts sector since 2012 at Sydney Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) and Theatre Works across marketing, corporate partnerships, fundraising and development.
She holds a Master of Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Melbourne (Dean’s Honours List 2019) and a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Melissa is passionate about supporting talented people who find solutions to help make the world a better place; she is excited to be a part of cutting-edge medical research at the Bionics Institute.
