‘Listening effort’ is the extra effort required to understand what you hear, and it is especially challenging for people with hearing loss. Our goal is to develop a standardised method to measure listening effort, which could be used in clinical practice to help clinicians customize patient-specific treatments. The method that we are developing will also provide beneficial information for hearing aid manufacturers to help improve hearing instrument technology.
