Chris Weaver, Senior Development Manager
Chris Weaver joined the Bionics Institute in 2026 as Senior Development Manager.
He has spent 15 years working in professional fundraising, with a broad spectrum of experience across communications, marketing and development. He previously worked as a major gift fundraiser in school education, where he secured major gifts from individuals, groups, trusts and foundations.
Prior to this, Chris developed cases for support for the University of Melbourne during the first decade of the University’s highly successful ‘Believe’ campaign. This has given him a strong understanding of the needs of researchers working in complex interdisciplinary environments.
Chris enjoys demonstrating to donors the importance of research and innovation, including how their support can make a tangible difference to research outcomes.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne and has been admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
