Dr Nara Liu, Post-doctoral Research Fellow

Nara Liu is a Research Engineer at the Bionics Institute, completing her PhD at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Melbourne in 2024

Dr. Nara Liu is a postdoctoral researcher specialising in neuroengineering and computational neuroscience. Her doctoral research focused on understanding and optimising endovascular stimulation of peripheral nerves through the integration of computational modelling, pre-clinical experiments, and biosignal analysis.

At the Bionics Institute, Nara works with A/Prof Sophie Payne and Dr. Tomoko Hyakumura to develop computational models of biological systems that investigate how vagus nerve stimulation parameters affect therapeutic outcomes in seizure control for individuals with drug-resistant epilepsy. This work is conducted as part of the Vagus Nerve Stimulation Centre of Excellence.
